removing plasmids from yeasts - (Aug/30/2004 )

Hello.
Can someone please tell me how to remove a plasmid from yeast cells, without killing them?

you can always try growing the yeast in non selective media through several generations..then replica plate onto selective media and pick colonies that have lost the plasmid (ie grow on non selective plate but not selective). depending on what function the plasmid serves, if selection pressure is removed, a certain percent of the yeast cells will lose the plasmid over time.
