DNA extraction from PFA fixed cells - (Apr/26/2008 )

Hello,

Does anybody know if it is all right to extract DNA from paraformaldehyde (0.5%) fixed cells. Is there anything special that I ought to keep in mind?

It is usually pretty difficult to extract DNA from formaldehyde fixed cells, but there are kits and special protocols for doing so. I would recommend having a look at "Biotechniques" journal and probably "Current protocols".
