western blot current setting.. for 1 or 2 blots together? - (Apr/03/2008 )

hii.. its a li'l strange what i see. my western blot unit can have 2 blots/cassetes at a time. i set it at 100v constant and 400mA current variable. now whether i put one blot or two.. the start current it same. wont more current be needed to pass to have two transfers at the same time in the same unit? i dint understand this. or is ther some mistake that is happening. thanks.

no. you need the same current if the blots are stacked (if they are side by side then you will need greater current). the voltage will be higher because of greater resistance.
