As others said, a GST tag can help with solubilization. Also, the use of Sarkosyl at the begining of the purification may help to solubilize inclusion bodies. (Reference: Search Pubmed for PMC50983 ) Sarkosyl has helped me to purify more of proteins that have been previously purified, and purify a protein that was going into inclusion bodies, although I had problems with this proteins activity...
Also, the GST tag is 26 kDa to my knowledge.
