Dna Extraction from degraded blood samples - (Mar/14/2008 )

Hello,
I need to extract DNA from very compromised blood (impossibility to precipitate a white cell pellet), there are any protocol to perform a DNA extraction (no column kit)? I try with Phenol-clorophormio.A.isoamilic, but I am some difficult with the digestion of the sample (a lot of protein!!).

Try read on this paper by Zhu & Wang 1996.Analytical Biochemistry 246,page 155-158.May be can try.

You might also want to look at the NEB Pre-PCR mix of enzymes to fix many problems with degraded DNA.
