blasting gene of interest - (Mar/10/2008 )

hi guys, let's say you just cloned the gene of interest and you have sequenced it. what is considered a good percentage homology after you blast it? has anyone every gotten 100% homology if they cloned with Taq polymerase? thanks.

If your gene has already been described and is present in the database, I would expect an homology of 100%... sometimes you get less if you're blasting your gene together with a part of the plasmid.

Do you get big differences?
