Plasmid with two different origins? - (Feb/28/2008 )

Can anyone tell if it is possible to have a plasmid with two different origins, one derived of p15A and the other oriC, they have different direction i think. Will this be a problem in a E. coli cell?

Thanks!

you can only have one origin of replication by plasmid.
BUT : if you have 1 origin of replication for e coli and 1 origin of replication for plasmid development in yeast (2µ for example) it's ok because the 2µ origin will not be functional in coli.
