anyone know if anti-gfp antibodies will detect EGFP in a western?

Depends. Find out which antibody you want to use- find out what is the recognition sequence for it and then checjk if that recognition sequence appears in your EGFP.

yes, they work.

I've used anti-eGFP a couple of times... it can be done as long at the antibody that you're using isn't total crap.

polyclonal anti-gfp normally detect true GFP-derivatives which means E/GFP, E/CFP, E/YFP etc
