Laser capture microdissection - newbie (Aug/03/2004 )

Hello all,

Does anyone have any experiences with Laser Capture Microdissection they'd care to share? Before I go that route, I'm interested in learning from anybody's previous adventures with this technology.

Thanks!

Here is the LCM information link. Hope this helps.

Thanks for the link!

I'm also interested in hearing about people's "Hands-on" experience with this technology i.e. ease of use, real world sample stringencies etc.

I'm taking a class in this next week. I would like to know more about it as well. It seems like it will be interesting.

I took a class in this at the National Institutes of Health (USA). There seem to be several new pieces of equipment that are quite useful. However, only a few types are pure laser-capture. Most of the types involve cutting using a UV laser. It's a very neat process and useful for DNA, RNA and protein extraction.
