It's so scared to know that someone who knows how dangerous EtBr is but she doesn't care that. Anyway, what do you guys do when some people in the lab have does something like this? What should I do with her?
Hello oddie,
Here is a collection of methods for decontaminating ethidium bromide

Hey
In our lab we soak EtBr stuff in Presept.
Hi, we use 5M HCl to reduce the toxicity of the EtBr.
i would use an ethanol solution and a bunch of q-tips, although I am sure there are better methods...but, after it is cleaned, the best way to keep this from recurring is to get one of those keyboard covers that can be rinsed off with soapy water or whatever, and thrown out if they get too bad. most office supply places carry those and they are not too expensive
