Southern blotting using various probes on one blot - (Jan/31/2008 )

Hi,
i am going to do souther blot analysis using 4 mixed DNA probes on 4 DNA digested pattern transfered to a membrane, but i don,t know if i could get the singnal for all of them at once?
any suggestion welcome.

so long as the hybridisation conditions are the same for each of the probes you should be able to use all 4 in the same probing. However, if you are after a specific pattern from each probe, then it is best to keep them separate otherwise you woun't be able to distinguish the patterns.

thanks bob1. However, the dot bloting revealed the best DIG-labeled for my probe, but i couldn,t get any signal on the membrane in the range. actually it seems pattern transferring to membrane, labeling and hybridization temparature are OK but yet no specific signal is observed. any suggestion to improve the problem appreciated.
