Negative ascitic fluid - (Jan/29/2008 )

Hi,

I need some advice on generating negative control ascites from mice.

The disease sample I'm working on causes the build-up of ascitic fluid in infected mice peritoneum. The parasites are present in the i/p tap fluid as well.

But I need ascitic fluid that is parasite-free as a negative control.
So will injecting my negative control mice with plain FCA in the peritoneum produce the ascitic fluid I need? I need around 5 ml of this.

becarefull about this post, production of ascites in mouse are banned ethically in some countries. so u may not want to ask this question in public.
