pronounciation issue - "pri" vs "pre" (Jan/28/2008 )

Are pre-miRNA and pri-miRNA pronounced differently or the same. If the same, how do you differentiate between the two when giving a talk, is it all in context?

I would pronounce pre-miRNA with the long "e" sound of sweet, and pri-miRNA with the long "i" sound of like (as you would pronounce the first part of the word "primary").
