16s or 23s for sequencing the unknown - (Jan/11/2008 )

I'm going to extract the genomic DNA of my unknown isolate on Monday and was wondering if PCR with 16s (for further sequencing work) or 23s primers will be better.

In general, 16S sequences are used for bacterial classification. See here for references:
