rna extracion problems - (Dec/18/2007 )

these days iam working with rna unlike DNA this always cause problems.
i extracted RNA form the rice leaves.got good bands in Denatured gel.i used guaniidium thiocyanate phenol chloroform method.but to extract RNA from roots i tried this method.this time i didnt get any results.for roots is there any modificatio????????.if any body working with roots could give the protocol?guid me?

It's always more difficult to extact RNA from rice roots than shoots. Even with the same amount of material the yields are always lower.
Here in the lab we do those extractions with the Qiagen RNeasy kit or with trizol. It works ok but not as well as with shoots...
