Good bacterial strains to reduce deletions - (Nov/29/2007 )

Hey guys,

I'm having some issues with a couple of genes at the moment that are picking up deletions every time I clone them. Both genes are GC-rich. The best strain I've got available at the moment to prevent the deletions is SURE 2 from Stratagene, but it still doesn't prevent the deletions from occurring. I was just wondering if anyone knows any better strains to use than this one?

Have you tried Stbl3 cells (invitrogen). With Sure cells, how long do you grow them? Longer growth time can cause this effect.
