96 WELL PCR Purification Suggestions - (Nov/26/2007 )

Hie,

I'm interested in doing large scale PCR Purification with 96 well plates. But I do not have the correct rotor for 96-well plate required centrifugation. If you have any suggestions on other alternatives that will be wonderful. I was thinking of a vacuum manifold but I don't really have any idea how it works and what I would need or if I need a particular machine.

I use a vacuum manifold with the QIAquick 96 PCR Purification Kit Cat # 28181 routinely. Purified material is clean by gel analysis and clones well. And we do have the correct rotor for centrifugation but don't use it for this kit.

How does the kit work?? Would I need to purchase any additional equipments or just purchasing the kit is sufficient??

If you do not have a manifold, Qiagen has them for about $50. You will also need a 1 mL deep-well plate to mix the PCR reactions with the loading salts.
