ARN storage - (Oct/17/2007 )

Dear all,

I'm working on RNA and I would know if I can store it on ablsolute ethanol at -20°C (with NaAc to precipitate it) or is it better to resuspend it on water and store at - 80°C??

Thanks for your attention

Resuspend it in DEPC treathed water and store at -80!
You can store it in Ethanol if you don't have time to continue the isolation that day, but it is only stable for about 2 weeks.

I agree, you can store it at –80 for month or years (if it has good quality), but in ethanol after 3 weeks it doesn’t work any more, I say it because I tried to do it a couple of times wit not success.

really??
but my senior worked with RNA stuff was so angry to discover her RNA ( stored in DEPC treated water, -80C ) was degraded after 3months...
so, im now so worry for my RNA that whether they are strong enough to stay safely without degraded until i manage to do cDNA library...

-80'C in water.
