Extraction protocol to visualize microtubules - (Sep/26/2007 )

Hello,

I´ve heard of a protocol using phalloidin (a drug that polymerizes microfilaments) to help preserve microfilaments during extraction. I was wondering if anyone had already used a drug such as taxol (polymerizes microtubules) to help preserve microtubules during extraction? Does it work?

i've used taxol to displace maps from microtubules. the tubules form without the maps and then you separate them from each other.
