Elute DNA from Watmann paper - I received a plasmid in the mail and cant get transfectants (Sep/25/2007 )
Hello
I received a plasmid in the mail. It was blotted onto watman paper.
I cut a small piece of the area and incubated in water. Mixed and vortexed.
I tried to get transfectant E.Coly and did not get any colonies (antibiotic and positive controls check out Ok).
A friend suggested using Tris pH8.0 for the extraction.
Any suggestions?
Thank you all

elute the whole spot as most send only 1-10 µg; it does not matter if with water or TE
