Best compotent cells - (Aug/14/2007 )

Which commercial compotent cells work the best. Should I buy DH5alpha or JM109.

what purpose ?
i would go for DH5alpha at first... but don't know what you wanna do

Depends on what you want to do - if it's just basic cloning or sub-cloning then DH5-alpha is the best of these two options.

For simple cloning my first choice is DH5-alpha.

It is just for transformation of a plasmid. So would JM109 do?

ok if you just want to midiprep your plasmid, both can be used
