DNA extraction Kits ((choose one)) - Fermentas and Bio Basic (Jul/18/2007 )

PLZ i want to know ur opinion
i am doing DNA extraction from blood obtained by retro-orbital bleeding from rat in order to do PCR afterthat.
i try to choose only kit from those in order to buy it.

the first: Genomic DNA Purifcation Kit #K0512 from Fermentas
the second: EZ-10 spin column blood genomic DNA Minipreps Kit # BS484 from Bio Basic

which one is more suitable for my work??????
i need ur opinions

thank you very much. Best Regards.

PLZ tell me which one can I buy to do my work??????????????????????????????

is the Fermentas one without column? if the kit is non-column based, you'll get higher yield... but not so convenient to use. if it is a column based, easy to use but you might lost some of your DNA. if your samples are limited and you want a higher yield, should go for no-column based. if you can easily get plenty of your blood samples... try column based.

why not ask the company to give you some samples to try on? you'll know better. if i'm looking for something new to try on, i'll always ask for samples from different brand and make a comparison (price, yield and quality etc).

Thank you very much sanjiun for your help
Fermentas one without column
but i'd like to know if the purity of extracted DNA affect the PCR or not. if i decide to try non column one so its purity is lower than the coloum based one.
Best regards.

Does the purity of extracted DNA affect the PCR????????? or not??????????????????????

PCR is forgiving in terms of purity of DNA, but I would still try to purify it to some extent - add in RNase, things like that. But DNA typically doesn't have to be very pure for PCR...for DNA sequencing, it does however. Hope that helped.
