ELISA in a real-time PCR plate - possible? (Jul/17/2007 )

hi all,
just wondering whether ELISA could be done in an RT-PCR plate of 394 wells - well capacity 20-25ul
thanks in advance

ELISA plates have high-binding properties for coating with the antibody. I guess if the 384 plate had these properties then it would probably work. I doubt the qPCR plates are designed for this though.

hi ceri,
thanks for the nice answer
even then i tried the ELISA and to my surprise i could see a clear difference between negative and positive control, i couldn't take the readings though as it is a 394 well plate and wells are V-shaped
just informing you all
bye

Glad it work. It's a shame you could read it. Maybe if it was a fluorescence based ELISA you could use a qPCR machine with a custom program.
There may well be other flat bottomed 384 well plates available though.
