How do you know if a specif Ser of the substrate protein is phosphorylated by a - (Jul/16/2007 )

Suppose you have a protein A, which is a substrate for kinase B. How can you test if a specific serine of protein A can be phosphorylated by kinase B?

possible by testing with a phospho-site specific antibody (if available) or by phosphopeptide mapping in Ms/Ms

i woulg go for MS analysis as with antibodies it may be difficult to have good signal.

I wouldn't go with the antibodies, not reliable. better try MS/MS
