Calculation of MW fusion protein - (Jun/29/2007 )

i have a fusion protein of EGFP and pGEX 4T-1? how do I calculate the theoretical MW of fusion protein before i compare it with the SDS page results?how do i get hold of the sequence?

I take it the pGEX-4T1 is the vector and EGFP is cloned into it? pGEX is from Amersham, check them for the sequence or Google search or check NCBI. Depend on where the EGFP sequence come from, there might be some changes in the sequence, but I would guess that it is from Clontech. Again, Google or NCBI or search Clontech catalogue (they discontinue the EGFP vector series but they should still have the sequence). To be sure then sequence using the sequencing primers from pGEX vector (Amersham). As for MW, GFP is about 25-29kD, similar to GST.
