commercial peptide precipitated, how can I redissolve it ? - (Jun/28/2007 )

I bought a commercial peptide (only about 20aa). I leave it in the fridge bit long and the concentration I made is bit high. so now I realize that it is precipitated. ph34r.gif ph34r.gif blush.gif blush.gif I see lots white staff floating around. It is quite expensive, so does anyone has a method I could redissolve it?

Thanks a lot
guys

Can you just dilute it a little? If nobody here gives some advice, maybe you could contact the technical support of the company from which you purchased the peptide. They should be able to tell you what will solubilise it... they (probably) synthesised it in solution afterall!

Try to add 5-20% acetonitrile to your peptide solution (if it doesn't interfere with your experiment) . Sometimes it helps.

those peptides which contain cysteins are advised to store with anti-oxidants such as DTT; check if there is possibility of cystin formation; try to add mild conc of DTT (or DTE)

You can try 1M L-Arginine. It solubilizes a lot of stuff and most of the time it does not interfere with downstream applications.
