tissue on slides - tissue on slides (Jun/23/2007 )

good day

can any one give me tips on how to prevent wrinkles on tissue that is being cut using a microtome, into a water bath and there after onto slides?

thank you

hi there,

hmm...you can increase the temperature of the microchrome that you are using. or you can use gelatine solution after 10x dilution to help you spread your section when placing in onto the slide

Increase temp. of waterbath. Also change blades if there is too many wrinkles.

spot on as usual scolix - if i remember rightly a few drops of washing up liquid in the water might also help.

also if you are getting exessively wrinkled sections the blade may be at the wrong angle
