real time pcr in a day - (May/31/2007 )

using all the well in a 96 well plate...........how many plate you suggest me to run in a single day
i mean a lot of pippeting may make pain in your hands and may be sample will not homogenous.
i dont have time and i want to make sample for 3 plate in a day. do u suggest me to do this???

It's hard to say for someone else.
Do you have a repeating pipet for pipetting the mastermix in the 96 well-plate and a multiwell-pipet to pipet 12 samples from one plate to an other?
On a normal day, I run 6 pcr's without really hard work, just normal. But then I have already made the cDNA in a 96-wells plate (not all 96-well plates are suitable for pcr!), I can pipet the mastermix with a repeating pipet and pipet the samples with a multiwell-pipet. Then the standard takes most of the time, but when the first gene is running, you can make the standard and the rest of the plate of the 2nd gene. When the first gene is running, I already make the program for the second gene and copy-paste the name of the samples etc and then have coffee-break till the first one is finished and so on. The coffee-breaks are important, otherwise you'll get pain in your hands!

thanks for your reply. no i dont have any special pippet. i just have a pippet for 1-10ul.
we have multiwell pippet for protein assay...that is bigger , for 200ul. if you think a good pippet will increase my efficiency then could you please suggest me the suitable pippete, so that i could buy it.

Sorry for the late reply, I was convinced the e-mail notification was on.
We use a multiwell pipet from rainin, a 1-10µl, it's a very good pipet (very precise and consistent). Catalog number L12-10.
We also have the repeating pipet from rainin, the autorep E.

thanks.
well i have a good pippet for 1-10ul. but i need a pippet for 20ul because i make a mixture of premix-cDNA sample-water and apply 18ul of that mix in each well where i add 2ul of 5mM primer. so i need a 20ul pippet and my one is rubbish i could say. i need to request my prof to buy a new one

They have this same pipet also in a P20.
