I have a challenge problem - Plasmid extraction (May/25/2007 )
Hello Scientists,
I am doing a research on extracting a plasmid from a wild type bacteria and trying to sequence it. I dont know anything abt this bacteria except that it is ampicilin resistant one. So how do i make sure that this bacteria has the resistant gene in the plasmid or in its genomic DNA, and if it is a plasmid how do i know if it is relaxed or stringent plasmid. I have other questions to ask but i need these answers first, thank you All plz help me...

Go read some articles in the journal of Plasmid. You are not the first one working on this.
