How to sterilize the following substances? - What technique would you use? (May/04/2007 )

How can you sterilize amino acids, glucose, a solution of NaCl, and antibiotics? Could you please tell me about an internet site where I can get this information?

I will use filter membrane for antibiotics, glucose and amino acids. Those compounds are heat sensitive. happy.gif

I agree, Millipore filters may be a very good option, they worked fine with me many times.

but i autoclave Nacl, when i add it in any media or reagent or to make saline or spore suspension with glycerol

NaCl is the only one you can safely autoclave. I mean, there's not much else that can happen to ions of sodium and chloride, eh?

Never autoclave SDS... ph34r.gif it turns into liquid soap.

-Minnie Mouse-

Haha... SDS is very foamy even if you shake it. I can imagine it will be worse when autoclave it. happy.gif
