Removal of LPS from media? - (Apr/18/2007 )

Hi,

I have conditioned media from cells that were stimulated with LPS and I'd like to culture naive cells in this media but I want to activate them with different antigen. Can anyone recommend a way to remove the LPS from the conditioned media?

Many thanks,

D.

May try to use a filter column that have a cut-off size suitable for removing LPS.

Hope this may help.

There is a very easy solution to this. Add Poly B to your media and it will bind to all the LPS (assuming you use a high enough concentration) and prevent LPS from interacting with other cell types.

... but you have to consider that Polymyxin B is an antibiotica.
