Can CMV promoter be used as transgene vector - (Mar/22/2007 )

Recently, I am constructing a transgene vector for mice microinjection.

I don't know whether CMV promoter can be used?

it depends if CMV promoter works in the specific cell type or not.

CMV promoter gets methylated and expression shuts down. I advise staying away from this promoter unless you want short-term expression.
