RNA electrophoresis - RNA electrophoresis (Jul/11/2003 )

Hi,

I'd like to ask - does any one do RNA electrophoresis in native agarose gels (non-denaturing)?

I notice a small band between 28S and 18S in my native agarose gels, and I'm not sure what it is. Someone suggested mRNA, but it looks too discrete and well defined. Otherwise, 28S and 18S look OK.

maybe it is mRNA, because usually mRNA is about 2kb or so.
by the way, what kind of material do you use?

I use human kidney.

I certainly hope it is mRNA! Anyway, my 28S, 18S and A260/280 ratios are good (1.9 - 2)
