A question about mRNA - (Jun/17/2003 )
I want to know ,when the content of a kind of antibody reaches the highest level
in the body, does it mean that the mRNA expressed it had reached the highest
level either?

There is a direct correlation to mRNA levels and antibody production. This is the basis for the newest wave of molecular based immunoassays (RealTime-PCR, etc) that are focusing on autoimmune responses. It is not a safe assumption, however, to say that a maximum production of antibody is only limited by the mRNA that encodes it. Unfortunately, life's never that simple ![]()
There are other cell functions and possible limiting components that can effect the level of antibody production.
