Anybody has a good phosphorylated IKKa antibody? - (Feb/09/2007 )
I am doing western for phosphorylated IKK alpha. I have tried antibodies from Santa Cruz (sc-23470) and Cell Signaling (#2681). None of them works. Your help is appreciated.
Hi,
We've had some success with a Phospho-IKKalpha/beta antibody from cell signalling (Ser176/180) Clone 16A6 cat. no. 2697. It's not specific for IKK alpha so you could either resolve IKK alpha and beta really well or try an IP with a specific IKK alpha ab before blotting with the phospho-specific.
The technical support at cell signalling are pretty helpful and may give you more advice and possibly positive controls for the antibody you already have. Their antibodies are normally pretty reliable.
Best wishes,
Ceri
I agree with Ceri. but, In my hands, the pIKK ab (cell signaling 2697) only detect phospho-IKKbeta upon LPS and RANKL stimulation by straight western blotting . I have my experience posted at http://www.biorating.com/latest_rev.php?an...094&val=ikk. if anyone interested, I will like to discuss with him/her.
hi,
Thanks a lot for your information. it seems http://biorating.com is really a good place to find antibody information.
