Murine Dendritic cell-specific marker - (Feb/01/2007 )

I want to analyze dendritic cells in mouse mammary tumor sections (immuno-histochem,istry). Most of the antibodies recognize macrophages also. Is there an antibody that is dendritic-cell specific only?

Thanks!

There isn't one DC specific marker per se. Most people use CD11c as it expressed on myeloid DCs but it is also expressed on a subpopulation of B cells and macrophages. The best bet is to use a combination of markers which would differentiate between macrophages and DCs...such as CD14 should be on macs but not dcs. I hope this helps.
