cDNA for real-time PCR - (Jan/29/2007 )

Hello, i have a question i need to prepare some cDNA for a real-time assay (using SYBR Green) but the kit that i have can prepare the first strand and the second strand of cDNA, which is the difference ? Thanks in advance

the first strand will be complementary to the mRNA; the second strand will be complimentary to the first. when you do first-strand synthesis, you end up with ssDNA; when you do second-strand synthesis, you end up with dsDNA
