Which water is better for chemical preparation ? - water grade for protein purification (Jan/17/2007 )

Hi, all.

I 'm working on protein purification by using ion-exchange chromatography and His-trap columns.
I have some question

1. Between tripple distilled water and type I water from water purification system, PURELAB ultra (bioscience grade), which is the better for my works ?

2. Would PURELAB ultra water is good enough for my works ?

some if not most proteins need beside a certain ionic strength some trace elements to build stable confirmations which means ultra pure water is not necessary for the proteins;

on the other hand, if columns are re-used it will be better to use ultra pure water

i use purelab ultra in my lab for years now, and that's really appropriate.
I've no financial interest on them laugh.gif
