lymphocytes' RNA extraction - How many cells (Mar/27/2003 )

Hello, sorry to bothering all.
I would like to know whether there is a protocol for human (not cancer cells) lymphocytes' RNA extraction; I need an amount of nucleic acid in order to make a microarray experiment and followings validation experiment.
My basic protocol is based on TRizol reagent (Invitrogen); I actually don't know how many cells are necessary for my purpose.

Many thanks in advance

From 7 x 106 lymphocyte cells you should get 1 - 5 micrograms of RNA and 30 - 60microgram of DNA (or roughly 6pg/cell). You should be able to calculate how many cells you need to get enough material for your microarray.
