ELISA and Falcon tubes - (Jan/12/2007 )

Hi to all,
this is my first participation in this forum!
somebody knows if the antibodies are entrapped or bonds to the plastic wall of falcon tubes????
I was made an ELISA and a colleague tall me about follow the protocol in glass tubes because the antbs. detected can be less than the real quantities.
Tank you, Patricia M.

the stock of the biotinylated antibodies is in glass tubes, however I prepare the dilution extemporously in a falcon tube.

-Missele-

As good as I know polypropylene (of which commonly Falcon tubes are made of) has low protein binding.

may be a problem for very low antibody titers AND (et) if there is no blocking reagent (Tween-20, BSA) in your dilution buffer; in this case use silanized tubes
