Nalgene Filterware use - (Jan/11/2007 )

I was wondering if anyone knows how to use these? Because they come with no description at all. I am attaching a pic.

Hi there!

We have similar bottles from millipore...you fill liquid in at the top, connect the little white thingy on the side to a hose connected to a vacuum device. Then you apply vacuum and the liquid get sucked through the membrane and ends up in the container at the bottom. I guess yours is for sterilizing solutions as well (ine are)

just to add a little...

with some of these devices you remove the top chamber to remove your filtered solution (as with the ones shown in stardust's link). with others, you have to remove the tubulation (the white thingy that you attach the vacuum line to) and pour through the side tube (like the devices in smoochiepie79's attachment appear to be).

Thank you so much:)!

These also often come with a sterile cap which can be used to replace the filter unit when finished.

There are versions which have just the top filter section and a 45 mm threaded section for use with the Corning style 45 mm capped media bottles.
