destaining silver stained gels - (Dec/18/2006 )
I was just curious to know if i can destain my silver stained 2D gels completely and then transfer the proteins by westerns. That way i know that the 2D runs are good, becoz by silver staining is good. So it becomes easier for me to troubleshoot, as the variables are fewer

destain silver stained gels with Farmers reagent, however, normal blotting is not possible; you may succeed if you tank blot for several days(!); in this time you will be quicker to run a new gel for conventional blotting
