Kanamycin in a F' strain? - problems with tn5? (Dec/04/2006 )

Hi,
I want to clone a vector with kanamycin resistance. In our lab we only have the top10F' strain which has the tn5. I know the tn5 can give false resistance to zeocin and bleomycin for instance, but somewhere I remember there was also something with kanamycin.
Can I use this vector in this strain or can they give false resistance?

I believe Top10F' has a Tn10 not a Tn5 insertion in the F plasmid. This carries tetracycline resistance, not kanamycin resistance. But, the experiment can be done faster than the research. Do it now.
