20% chelex extraction method for forensic samples - (Nov/21/2006 )
Hi all,
Does anyone have a 20% chelex method for forensic samples (eg trace or degraded DNA) - or a way of getting around using Microcons to concentrate? I didn't realise how expensive they are!
Thanks.

Hello,
I think the best method for extracting degraded DNA is the standard phenol chloroform method. Then you can concentrate with the microcon.
I haven't used the chelex in a while but I don't think it works as well.
