Is this kind of primer OK? - (Nov/21/2006 )

Someone give me a pair of primer. At the both end of each primer is base A or T. According thumb's rule, G or C is desirable. Then is the primer above OK? Many thanks!

Since it is just a rule of thumb (3' is more important, 5' you can almost forget) and if otherwise the primer looks ok (Tm, size, no stable secondary structures, no complematary 3' ends, etc), give it a try.

try it, i had primers with worst GC and AT content possible and they still worked, no non-specific bands . i'd say just try it.
