Will the membrane-associated protein aggregate after the removal of detergent? - (Nov/09/2006 )

Hi all.
I used detergent to solubiliza proteins from membrane. Is the detergent on protein also removed after dialysis? Will the membrane-associated protein aggregate after the removal of detergent?

it depends on the detergent as well as on your protein; you may not lose all detergent by dialysis; rests of detergent may be enough to mask association sites of your proteins and may prevent aggregation
