SYBR VS TAqman- What is the difference other than PRimers? - TAqman works and SYBR doesnt (Oct/12/2006 )

Hello Everyone,
I am facing an intriging problem. dry.gif
FOr the same cDNA prep, SYBR green does not work (HKGs- B2M, B-Actin, RNA pol) and TAqman for the same samples works (B-Actin, 18S). I am quite confused. ALso
in both reactions my -RNA control (where I omitted RNA in the RT step) is also showing amplification.
WHat are your thoughts?
Thanks in Advance smile.gif

Oh I forgot to add
The samples that did not amplify for SYBR were all untreated samples, in the same set all of my treated samples amplified. (tHe RNA is from rat mammary tissue). The treated samples also amplified with Taqman (of course rolleyes.gif )...
This is waht is so confusing blink.gif

Help!!!!
