Contaminated Duplex - how to clean it up.. (Oct/02/2006 )

Hi.. I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions/experience with this problem. It seems as though an siRNA duplex we ordered has bacterial contamination (probably because it was resuspended in RNase-free but non-sterile buffer).

Whats the best way to clean this guy up? We have 100uL of a 50uM solution so its too little to be sterile-filtered.. would precipitation work for this small an amount of nucleic acid (presumably the 70% ethanol wash step would kill any remaining bacteria)..??

if your siRNA duplex were contaminated by bacterial, I'd feel that it is not RNase free
