Isolation of langerhans cells - (Sep/27/2006 )

Hi all,
I needed some help with LC isolation from mice. I am looking for some cell surface markers that can be used for isolating LC from murine skin. I am using magnetic beads and had used Ia markers initially for isolation. The problem with Ia was that i got a lot of non specific binding and epidermal cells might express Ia when there is an injury or inflammation.CD1a can be used for only human langerhans cells I think ..Any suggestions or ideas...pls :

surface molecules on langerhans cells from the skin that can be used for isolation are DEC205, langerin. only langerin is really specific for the epidermal langerhans cells, since DEC205 can also be found into dermal DC.
