What is the weight of NOG (what is NOG)?
Because there are dialyses membranes with a broad variety of cut-off values. So either choose one that you remove the NOG and keep the protein inside (a cut-off just below 13 kDA) or remove your protein from the membrane and keep the rest in (cut-off just over 13kDa).
Dialyse against the solution in which the protein is dissolved (without salts).

centricon columns may be the better way for him to purify the protein and concentrate it in same way.

Dear Margo 33,

Agree with Aspergillie entirely. Practically get dialysis tubing either dry or already soaked in buffer. I normally dialyse a large volume of FCS to remove Arginine. This is done by taking 100ml of FCS and dialysing against 10L of PBS. This is repeated 3 times, replacing the PBS every 24hours. The FCS supports cell growth, and in my assay Arginine is completely removed.

Hope this is useful
